Dylan passes his PhD thesis defense!

Congratulations to Dylan Moore for successfully defending his PhD thesis, "Augmenting Sensemaking in Dementia Care and Education through AI-enabled 'Narrative Stewardship'"!

Dylan's research examines how AI systems can serve as stewards of narrative knowledge across communities. His work spans three case studies: developing a peer-to-peer learning platform called Apricot Stone City; creating CareInsights, an AI infrastructure for documenting person-centered dementia care; and designing Family In The Loop to improve information sharing between caregivers and families. He proposes "narrative stewardship" as a design framework emphasizing attentiveness, translation, generativity, accountability, and dignity in AI systems that mediate stories and experiences.
