The Empower Lab has a lot to celebrate at CHI 2026 in Yokohama, Japan!

  • Sprout receives an Honorable Mention Award. Sprout uses a visual metaphor to support customizable and collaborative health tracking, empowering individuals to take an active role in managing their wellbeing. Congratulations to Pape Sow, Shirin, and the whole Sprout team!
  • Vafa Batool has been accepted to the Doctoral Consortium, a prestigious program that brings together PhD students to receive mentorship and feedback on their dissertation research from senior HCI researchers.
  • Vafa Batool will also be presenting at the Engagement Workshop, supported by the Phillips Family Student Professional Development award.
  • Emma Ricci-De Lucca has been selected as a Student Volunteer, playing a vital role in making the conference a success and engaging with the broader HCI community.
