Dr. Elizabeth Murnane is an assistant professor at Dartmouth specializing in human–computer interaction, information science, and social computing, with a focus on digital health applications.
She directs the Empower Lab, which develops inclusive, equity-driven personal informatics and behavioral intervention technologies using diverse interfaces—such as AR/VR, games, tangibles, and socially assistive robots—to empower underserved users.
Prior to Dartmouth, she earned her PhD in Information Science at Cornell, completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Computer Science at Stanford, and began her career building interactive visualization tools at a CSAIL startup after graduating from MIT in Mathematics and Computer Science.
